Trinity School

The "I Can" School Where Bright Students Who Learn Differently – Can Succeed

Mrs. Jones’ Class

February 3

Parents, with the addition of a new student, I find that I will be needing to revise my behavior chart.  I am in hopes of having it ready next Monday.

As you know, science and social studies project papers have been sent out.  These are VERY important projects and I encourage you to help your child with them.  If you need additional information please call me and I will be glad to visit with you. The social studies projects are due THIS FRIDAY.

Please KEEP YOU CHILD READING!!!!  Please have them read for 20 minutes every night, but if I send home textbook assignments to read, that will count towards their 20 minute reading time.  I am afraid that some of the students are not doing their nightly speed, fluency, and comprehension work.  Because reading touches every area of school life, I encourage you to make this a priority as well as filling in their reading logs.

Tonight the students will be having homework in spelling, the reading is 3, 1 minute readings of the student’s assigned paper and their 15 minutes of reading and math, practice set 68.  Please make sure that their reading comprehension paper is completed. Homework is a crucial part of their educational experience.  It helps them to plan, use time management skills, be responsible, and reinforces concepts they have learned in class.

I am trying to prepare your child for success not only for this year, but as they prepare for upper school.  I know that transition can be difficult and I work very hard to help make that transition as easy as possible.  Going from childhood to TEENAGER is scary and exciting, but requires much hard work. Thank you for all of your help and support.                                 jjones@trinityschoolokc.org
